Santa Ynez Elementary is a place where students are challenged, encouraged, and supported as they grow from elementary learners into confident middle school students. Our small-school setting allows teachers and staff to build strong relationships with students and families, while our programs help students develop the academic, social, and leadership skills they need for the future.

Santa Ynez Elementary provides a standards-aligned academic program designed to help students build confidence, curiosity, and readiness for the next stage of learning.
Core Learning
Instruction is aligned with California Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, with progress shared through reports and standards-based communication with families.
Reading & Intervention Support
The ExCEL reading program provides differentiated reading instruction so students can receive support in smaller, targeted groups.
Middle School Readiness
Older students have opportunities to prepare for high school through academic expectations, leadership, athletics, AVID, and graduation-focused goals. The district site identifies AVID as a program designed to prepare students for high school, college, and career.

College School District’s lunch program provides nutritious meals each day, including fresh fruits and vegetables that are locally sourced when possible. Students have also participated in planting and caring for the community garden.

Santa Ynez Elementary is the upper campus of College School District, serving Grades 1-8 in a warm, welcoming setting. Families visiting campus should enter through the main school office and check in with staff upon arrival.
