Jim Brown welcomes you to the College School District and invites you to become part of an outstanding small school district.  The District is committed to a quality education for every learner. 

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and all faculty and staff, Jim is pleased with the District’s many accomplishments over the past several years, some of which include:

• 2002 California Distinguished School Award;
• 2004 School Bond Measure Passage to Modernize all District Facilities;
• 2007 Santa Barbara County’s Highest API Growth Recognition;
• 2008 Title One Achieving School Recognition Award;
• 2009 Title One National Blue Ribbon Recognition Award Nominee.

Additionally, the District continues to achieve API subgroup scores that are among the highest in the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara County.  In 2008, the District achieved the highest English Learner API subgroup scores countywide. 

In addition to its quality academic program, the District is pleased to continue to offer some of the smallest class sizes in the state.  Further, the core program is supplemented by arts, music, and field trip programs for every student.  A state-of-the-art technology system offers a 21st century technology education for all students, both within classrooms and in our brand new Apple Mac Lab with full on-line and software capability.  

A high quality seventh and eighth grade program prepares our middle school students for success at the high school level.  A wide array of elective offerings supplement a solid core academic program offered through a block schedule and featuring a science lab and physical education program.   Our 7/8 grade videoconference and robotics electives have each been selected to represent Santa Barbara County at the annual state Computer Using Educators conference.
